MoveMyTest has one job: help two learners find a fair, compatible exchange so each can move to a test date and time that works better for them.
What we believe
These four principles help us stay focused on what matters: making test swaps simpler, safer and fairer for learners and instructors.
Free for learners
No subscription, no success fee and no card needed. Optional contributions do not change matching, visibility or support priority.
Privacy by default
Personal contact details are not shared across the matching network. DVSA booking references are encrypted and only revealed after both learners accept and explicitly consent to share them. We do not sell learner data.
Built around the official process
We do not grab, hold or resell DVSA slots. We do not run booking automation. The official swap is always completed by you, the learner, by phone with DVSA.
Instructor-aware
If you link an instructor, they can see proposed dates and record their availability. MoveMyTest screens for obvious rule conflicts, but you and DVSA make the final checks.

Built around the learner's goal
MoveMyTest has one clear purpose: help a learner find a driving test date and time that suits them better, without paying for a test slot or exposing personal information.
Built for learner-controlled bookings
Since 12 May 2026, only the learner can book and manage their own practical car test in England, Scotland and Wales. MoveMyTest helps with the matching step; it never acts inside the official booking service.
How the swap works
GOV.UK guidance explains how two learners can swap existing car test bookings. We help with matching, notification and consent — DVSA decides whether the exchange can go ahead and updates the bookings.

Create a free listing
Enter your current test date, time and centre, plus the dates and centres you would consider swapping to. We only ask for the minimum needed for matching — no licence number, no address, no card.

Wait for a compatible match
We compare your listing with active listings and screen for the published booking-category, location, remaining-change and 10-full-working-day rules. A proposal is not DVSA approval.

Review in a private match room
You and the other learner see a private match card with the exact swap details. Booking references are only shared after both sides accept and explicitly consent. Other personal details stay private.

Make two separate DVSA calls
Each learner calls DVSA separately on the same day. Learner 1 requests the swap, then learner 2 calls to complete it. DVSA recommends the second call by 4pm. The request expires at the end of the day if learner 2 has not called; restart from learner 1's call.
The DVSA phone number
For the official swap, call DVSA customer services on 0300 200 1122, option 2, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. MoveMyTest does not handle the swap itself — only DVSA can change your booking. Wait for DVSA to confirm the new bookings; each learner receives a confirmation email after the swap is complete.
Trust and safety
MoveMyTest is built around practical needs we hear from learners and driving instructors: privacy, honesty about what we can and cannot do, and a clean separation between test matching and lesson marketing.
- We are not DVSA, DVLA, DVA, nidirect or GOV.UK. We are a private matching service.
- MoveMyTest is operated by The Driving Training Centre Ltd and does not market driving lessons to learners referred by independent instructors.
- We do not store payment details. The service is free.
- We do not share your phone number, email, address, licence number or theory pass number with another learner.
- Factual guides link to the current primary sources used to check them.
- Only the test details needed for matching are used across the confidential matching network.
- The DVSA booking reference is encrypted and only revealed after both learners accept and explicitly consent.
