MoveMyTest is a peer-to-peer matching service for UK learner drivers who want an earlier practical test date. We help two learners find a possible exact-slot exchange; the official swap is always completed by you, the learner, by phone with DVSA.
What we believe
Four principles drive every product decision we make. If a feature cannot be defended against one of these, it does not ship.
Free for learners, forever
No subscription, no success fee, no card needed. MoveMyTest is funded to keep the swap process open to every UK learner, not locked behind a paywall.
Privacy by default
Booking references, phone numbers and personal details are never shared with another learner until both sides explicitly consent inside a private match room. We do not sell learner data.
DVSA-compliant, not a bot
We do not grab, hold or resell DVSA slots. We do not run booking automation. The official swap is always completed by you, the learner, by phone with DVSA.
Instructor-aware
Every match respects your driving instructor's availability and the DVSA's test-type and location rules, so a match is actually a match — not a no-show waiting to happen.
Who built MoveMyTest
Part of The Driving Training Centre group
MoveMyTest is built and operated by the same team that runs The Driving Training Centre, one of Scotland's largest independent driving schools. The DTC has been training learners across the UK since 2010 and operates The DTC Test Swap, a separate test-swap service for the DTC's own pupils.
Built for the 12 May 2026 DVSA rule change
From 12 May 2026, only learners can book, change, swap or cancel their own practical car driving test. MoveMyTest is designed for the new rules — we exist to handle the matching piece the DVSA does not cover, free and at scale.
How the swap works
The DVSA's 5 May 2026 guidance sets out exactly how two learners can swap directly. We do the matching, notification and consent work — DVSA does the official swap.

Create a free listing
Enter your current test date, time and centre, plus the dates and centres you would consider swapping to. We only ask for the minimum needed for matching — no licence number, no address, no card.

Wait for a compatible match
We check your listing against all other listings and apply the DVSA's test-type, location, change-availability and 10-working-day rules. You get notified by SMS and email the moment a match is found.

Review in a private match room
You and the other learner see a private match card with the exact swap details. Booking references are only shared after both sides accept. Sensitive data is never shared with the other learner.

Call DVSA together
One learner rings DVSA on 0300 200 1122. DVSA calls the other learner separately. DVSA runs security checks on both sides. The official swap is completed in that single call.
The DVSA phone number
For the official swap, call DVSA customer services on 0300 200 1122, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. MoveMyTest does not handle the swap itself — only DVSA can change your booking.
Trust and safety
MoveMyTest is built around what UK learners and driving instructors told us they want from a swap service: privacy, honesty about what we can and cannot do, and a clean record with the regulator.
- We are not DVSA, DVLA, DVA, nidirect or GOV.UK. We are an independent private matching service.
- We do not store payment details. The service is free.
- We do not share your phone number, email, address, licence number or theory pass number with another learner.
- We publish all our source citations in every blog post — usually GOV.UK, DVSA bulletins, the BBC and the Driving Instructors Association.
- We are part of The Driving Training Centre group, an established UK driving school with a public-facing record.
