Driving Test Swap Checklist: Before You Call DVSA
A practical checklist for both learners before the official DVSA driving test swap phone call.
Confirm the proposed exchange
Both learners should independently verify the proposal before any official call.
- Current and proposed test centre
- Current and proposed date and time
- Compatible test-price and requirement category
- At least one remaining permitted change each
- At least 10 full working days before the earliest test
- Instructor readiness and availability
Prepare your own security information
Have your own booking confirmation and security information ready for DVSA. Do not send your licence number, payment card or GOV.UK login to the other learner.
Be available at the same time
The official process requires both learners to be reachable. Check that the contact details held on each official booking are correct before calling.
