How Instructors Can Support a Driving Test Swap
A guide for learners and ADIs covering readiness, diary checks, linked learners and the boundary between instructor support and the official DVSA process.
The learner controls the official booking
An instructor can help a learner judge readiness, travel and vehicle availability, but the learner manages their own booking and participates in the official swap.
Check readiness before accepting
A date that is earlier is not always a better date. The learner and instructor should consider:
- Whether the learner can drive independently and consistently
- Whether the instructor and suitable vehicle are available
- Journey time and familiarity with the proposed area
- Time remaining for any necessary lessons or mock tests
How MoveMyTest supports the relationship
Only linked learners appear in an instructor dashboard. Instructors can review proposed dates and record availability without taking ownership of the learner's official booking.
MoveMyTest is free for learners and instructors and does not market driving lessons to linked pupils.
Questions learners ask
Can instructors use MoveMyTest for free?
Yes. There is no instructor subscription, commission or referral fee.
Can an instructor see every learner?
No. Only learners who link to the instructor or accept an invitation appear in that instructor's dashboard.
